do you think it is a symbol of racism or just a symbol of southern pride?? my personal thoughts:: im half white and half black. during my childhood my mom openly expressed her "southern pride" until i was 15. i never liked it because to me it was a flag saying "im a backwoods hick" but then i got used to it. i had redneck friends and ghetto friends, always had to explain to the getto ones why i hang out with rednecks, and i always had to explain to the rednecks why i dress like a thug. but when i was 15 my mom asked how i felt about the flag and i told her that i thought of it as southern pride or a while but then i told her to look back and see the truth. the flag was created for the confederates, who fought for black slavery, had nothing to do with southern pride. so i think that it is a symbol saying "i'm proud to have fought for black slavery." either way i ignore it when i see it because most people who where it aren't aware of its true meaning anyways....
